Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery

Hand & Upper
Extremity Surgery

Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery: involves the treatment of conditions affecting the structure and function of the fingers, hands, wrists, forearms, elbows, and shoulders. Subjected to enormous workloads, stresses, and strains, hands require sensation and extraordinary intricate, coordinated movement, involving simultaneous joint motion, tend gliding, and muscle contraction. Winthrop Orthopaedic Associates uses state-of-the-art diagnostics, allowing for the development of carefully tailored treatment plans for each patient. Some are managed conservatively with medication and exercise, many receive state-of-the-science, minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery, and – when other therapies fail – traditional surgical procedures are provided. In all instances, the goal is to restore range of motion, alleviate pain, increase strength and help patients return to normal activities of daily living. Conditions treated include:

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
